(1) The Society of Medical Arthropodology is a non-profit society interested in:
Promoting arthropodology (incl. entomology, acariology, myriapodology etc.) through:
(a) The encouragement of understanding, cooperation and friendship among medical arthropodologists throughout the world.
(b) The encouragement of international collaboration in medico-arthropodological research activities and services.
(c) The planning and organization of national/international symposia and regional meetings of medico-arthropodologists.
(d) The dissemination of information of interest to medico-arthropodologists and others by means of publications.
(e) The establishment and maintenance of a national research centre, which would house the collections of the Society.
(f) The encouragement of the development of medico-arthropodologists in regions where it is not strongly represented.
(g) The maintenance of liaison with other medico-arthropodological/entomological societies or institutions.
(h) The representation of medico-arthropodologists in other national/international organizations.
(2) Conservation of arthropods of pharmacological and nutritional importance, and their natural habitats through taxonomic and biodiversity explorations.
